Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of EFA OPEN STUDIOS! We welcome the public to explore 74 artist studios, along with a host of arts programming and exhibitions, all located in the EFA building in Midtown Manhattan. This event offers a rare opportunity to witness the creative process up close and engage with a vibrant community of professional artists. Our internationally recognized members, each with established studio practices and career honors, will open their doors to showcase their most recent works. Additionally, the EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and EFA Project Space will be open for special events and tours, providing firsthand experiences of the transformative power of art.

Private Curator Walkthrough with Klaudia Ofwona Draber

EFA Project Space | 2nd Floor

Join us for a private curator walkthrough of Aoko–born away from home with curator Klaudia Ofwona Draber. Ofwona Draber is the Executive Director & Chief Curator of KODA, a social practice residency for mid-career artists. She has lived and led arts, technology and strategy projects in Europe, Africa, and the United States. In Aoko—born away from home, seven artists who are either multi-racial or have multi-racial children, explore what it means to find your tribe, especially when you are “born away from home”.

This panel will explore the interdependent practices of artists and institutions and their relationship to sustainability, creative experimentation and professionalized markets. Examining these relationships with a cultural and economic critique, we will examine how accountability and social values are shaped by artists at the intersection of arts organizations, museums, and markets.

Creative Collaborations in Printmaking:
A Two-Part Exploration with Melissa Joseph and Jazmine Catasús

EFA RBPMW & Studio 702 | 2nd Floor

Join us for an inspiring two-part event that delves into the dynamic process of collaborative printmaking. Artist Melissa Joseph and RBPMW Artistic Director/Master Printer Jazmine Catasús will discuss how artists work together, combining their skills and creativity to produce stunning prints. This interactive session will include a live demonstration in the print shop and discussion of print techniques.

The second part features an intimate studio visit where participants will have the opportunity to gain insights into Joseph’s work, inspirations, and the role of collaboration in her practice. This is a rare opportunity to see works in progress, understand the tools and materials used, and engage in dialogue with the artist and printmaker.

Double Bass Performance by Kuba Dworak

Free and open to the public

Join us for a solo concert with Kuba Dworak, the internationally acclaimed classically trained jazz double bassist from Poland. Kuba’s performance will anticipate his upcoming solo album that pays homage to his roots in Southeastern Poland through innovative solo double bass arrangements. Drawing inspiration from the traditional folk music of Małopolska and Podkarpacie, regions deeply connected to his family's heritage, Kuba blends folk melodies of his grandfather’s time with contemporary jazz interpretations. This autoethnographic work keeps memories alive, and elevates the rich and hyper-local cultural traditions to an international stage.
