Intervention: Red

EFA member artist Laura Anderson Barbata in collaboration with the Brooklyn Jumbies presented Intervention: Red in Manhattan on the 2nd of October, 2021 at 4 PM.

Intervention: Red consists of a public processional performance involving costumed and masked performers in wearable sculptures spanning up to 16 ft in height. The work brings together traditional West African and West Indian stilt dancers and ground dancers. This project was supported by a City Artists Corp Grant.

The performance-procession began and end outside the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, 323 W 39th Street between 8th Ave. and 9th Ave. The public was invited to join and support the intervention/procession wearing red.
