Odette England is an artist and writer. Her works have been shown in more than 100 solo, two-person, and group exhibitions worldwide.

For 2021, England is a Light Work Artist in Residence ($5,000); a recipient of the Silver Eye Center for Photography Fellowship, and a nominee for the Prix Pictet, the world’s leading prize for photography and sustainability. Other recent awards include two grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the 2020 Anonymous Was a Woman grant.

England’s work is held in public collections including the George Eastman Museum, Museum of Contemporary Photography, New Mexico Museum of Art, and Fort Wayne Museum of Art, among others.

She has received fellowships to attend numerous artist and writer residencies including at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, working with fellow artist Jennifer Garza-Cuen. Work from this invitation-only residency is published by Radius Books in their first collaborative monograph Past Paper // Present Marks.

England’s critically-acclaimed edited volume Keeper of the Hearth was named a Photobook of the Year by LensCulture, American Suburb X, The Luupe, What Will You Remember and Lenscratch.

In September 2021 Saint Lucy Books will publish England’s monograph Dairy Character, winner of the prestigious 2021 Light Work Book Award.
